Yesterday, the world heard about the sad news that Prince Rogers Nelson (the artist known as Prince) was found dead in his Paisley Park residence.  He died at the age of 57.

To the music industry and to people growing up in the 80’s, he was an icon with the likes of Michael Jackson, Whitney Houston and George Michael.   During his 35 year career, he released 39 albums, won 7 Grammy’s, and took home the Oscar for the soundtrack to “Purple Rain”.   He also pioneered the Minnesota Sound: a combination of funk, rock R&B, soul and pop.  Bottom line…he was was a sex symbol, musical genius, and innovator.  His eclectic and flamboyant style, stage presence, and vocal range will live on forever.
